Wrap up of Summer 2025

Back to my blogging!....no seriously I'm back!

A bit of a re-cap of 2025 ....so far.

  • Disney World Vacay in February...as usual a wonderful time!
  • Celebrated a BIG birthday in May, Family met together for a bday dinner out and I was spoiled by the gifts!
  • Remodeled our laundry room, new paint, new wallpaper, new wall cabinets, floating shelves, and a floor cabinet! (more info below)
  • Made many summer trips to Norms our local ice cream shop!
  • Made a day trip to Pentwater.
  • Loved the summer that has totally flown by
  • Planning a December Disney World Trip...never have visited the parks when they are decked out in Christmas decorations, really so excited!
  • Decided to start decking out the interior with fall decorations. A bit early for me...but just somehow got in the mood!
  • Biggest news of all...and a MAJOR answer to prayers. We have found a new church. A group of people have started a new church, hired a pastor (who by the way is wonderful). One of the couples (that we knew from long ago)  in the start up group posted about the church beginning...we were intrigued. Went to the first service thinking probably no many since it's new. There was around 260 people ...it was wonderful. Have had two services and really love the love of the Lord they have and how warm the people are!!
So a little more details on the laundry room upgrade and re-do. I have been searching blogs and the net looking for the style I wanted. Slowing came up with ideas. and FINALLY starting putting them in place. With the new paint color, lighter, it opens up the room more. and then adding white wall cabinets on either side of the wall behind the washer/dryer and then foaling shelves between just turned out perfectly!! I also found a blog that she shared how she made a hanging wood slat cover that covered up the large ugly washer/dryer plugs that show above the appliances.

They have always bothered me...so I went for it!! Made it and love the result!! Photos below

Summer is moving way too fast!!

Spring got away from me and now summer is flying by just as fast!

May started quickly and with all that was on the calendar moved quickly to June. June...that was a blur...was it for you?

And now into July and THAT is flying by and next week our community celebrates Coast Guard Week. A week of much celebration and ends with a wonderful two days of an Arts and Crafts fair, Food trucks and on Saturday a wonderfully long parade!!

AND we are in the mist of planning a 50th anniversary "get a way"  Heading to Disney World...just the two of us..,,,6 days of fun, dining, live showsm, rides and shopping!! We will be going the end of September, we are counting down the days!

Whew haven't posted since February. We were leaving on a trip to Disney, which by the way, was wonderful. Had a great time, lovely weather, crowds not bad, dining was delicious and the time away went fast.

The best news of all is we have finally found our church home. We have been searching and trying out many different churches, never find a good fit at all.  We finally settled for a very large church for the last 3 years, really without making any connections. So much prayer has went into and trying to find the way through to a church home. We have missed that so very much. Well we have found it I'm sure. Five weeks ago we tried, yet again, another church. It seemed so right ...right from the start. God centured, scripture centered, warm and friendly people, and preaching that was so well done...it touched our heart and soul.

Our church is now Genesis, located in Fruitport, near the Lakes Mall area. More on that later.

  Vacation Plans with the "Mouse"

We are counting down the days until our vacation....we are visiting the "House of the Mouse"! in Florida. That would be Disney World!
We are so looking forward to a "get-a-way" and days in the warmth and sunshine. The cloudy days here take away your energy for sure!
We are flying to Florida, no more driving that far for us. The flight is non-stop and so fast. The only way to go!!

We always do all 4 parks, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. We have our favorite rides and shows in each park, but we spend the most time in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom!  Not only do we love all the parks, their rides and shows, but love the sit-down dining that is offered in all the parks. Each of the parks we have our favorite dining places...but do sometimes try to branch out and try a new place.

Because there are SO MANY dining places. We decided to try a new one, one that people rave about, it's the Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Lands of EPCOT (Canada to be exact)  It's described "Descend into the cozy cellar of a Canadian château"!!  Will give our review of it when we get home.
Two photos below of the restaurant, one of the outside, and one of the interior:

Christmas 2023

(Note: the post below this one has a fun poll I have created. Take a minute to take the poll!)

Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed to go by in a flurry! I can hardly remember the weeks between the two holidays and Christmas Eve and Day went by in a blur of activities. But all were wonderful.
I have to feature two of my Christmas gifts from Wayne:
  • First the Dutch whisks...love them, they work so well, I highly recommend!! Love how easy to clean and the tapered wood handles.
  • The second one is my new cue stick! We bought a pool table before Christmas and I now have a fancy "Pro Sniper" cue stick to help with those trick (winning) shots!!

In the photo below  ..in the middle is a photo of one of our family Christmas Eve games..."The Saran Wrap Ball"! We play it every year. I make it large and we have such fun with it. All kinds of prizes, toys, $$, and misc. are wrapped up in many, many, many layers of saran wrap(Like 9 boxes of Saran Wrap are used!)  We pass it around in a circle as it is unwrapped! Our granddaughters LOVE IT!! One rule, if you unwrap an items that is wearable, you must wear it the remainder of the game!
